Who needs leather when you have old seat belts?

Green The Map shows that you don't need to take more from the environment to make the things that we need. We already have them! Plus, through this initiative, Green The Map provides income to one of the most important sections of our society, the waste pickers and scrap dealers. That's some impact!

Green The Map

Green The Map is the fair trade arm of Swechha, a Delhibased social organization. Swechha aims to inspire, create and support a just, equitable and sustainable society, for everyone and forever.

Through this initiative, they have endeavoured to make best use out of waste through their designs.Furthermore, there is a section of our very own society that is doing the job of sorting the waste created by us. Green The Map works with these waste collectors and scrap dealers to collect the waste and upcycle it. They use tyre tube, juice cartons, milk packets, beer cans, chips packets and almost everything that has been thrown away to give it a new life.

They lead by example and show that nothing needs to be wasted, that we can upcycle just about any of the things that we use daily, and they support the very important community of scrap dealers and others by engaging them in production, sales and other operational aspects of the company!

Green The Map also boasts of India's first upcycled office. Watch the video here to see the journey from waste to utility and beauty.

You will directly support the waste collectors and scrap dealers that Green The Map works with to collect the discarded materials that they upcycle into products.

You will prevent discarded car seat belts from reaching the landfill, and thus prevent pollution.

By using upcycled materials, you reduce the resources and energy needed to make things out of fresh materials.
